A familiar pattern emerged in St Neots where river levels are high in response to recent heavy rainfall.

The Environment Agency currently has five flood warnings and six flood alerts for the town and surrounding area.

“Flooding is still possible for the next few days while the rivers drain away from high peak levels,” says the Environment Agency.

You can check all areas via the EA link here:

A statement from the EA says: “The forecast is for dry weather for the next two days.

One area particularly affected in St Neots is Brook Street and the Little Paxton bridge.

On social media one post points out that “the river level at St Neots has exceeded its recorded maximum level by 150mm with the river still rising.

“We only have Brook Street underwater so far, but it probably won’t peak until about 11am to 12pm”.

For one small business by the river, Ambiance café, it’s a stay closed day.

“I’m afraid we are unable to open whatsoever due to the levels of the water outside the premises,” says a post on the café’s Facebook page.
