Burglars raid Cambridgeshire jewellers – one man in custody

Raiders stole a fair bit’ and ‘made a lot of mess inside’

A Cambridgeshire jewellers was broken into during an early morning raid with the owners admitting today ‘a fair bit’ had been stolen. Police have been at the scene of the break in at Underwoods The Jewellers in Darling Mews, Ramsey, throughout the day.

“Police remain at the scene as investigations and forensic opportunities continue,” said a police spokesperson on their Policing Huntingdonshire Facebook page.

“One man is in custody in connection with the burglary.”

On their own Facebook page, Underwoods the Jewellers told customers: “We were burglarised last night. Please bear with us as we repair our shop. Rest assured all customers personal items are safe and secure.”

In a post the store told customers that not only had raiders “stole a fair bit” but they added “they made a lot of mess inside sadly which is somehow worse”.
