WATCH: Luke Mills admits drink driving after crashing car into a wall
‘You drunk? ‘Yeh’ ‘How much have you had to drink? ‘Too much’ And with that Luke Mills was off to the cells after police quizzed him shortly after crashing his car into a wall near Peterborough. Mills, 44, drove into the wall and flipped his car on its side while more than double the drink drive limit.
Mills, 44, was arrested after crashing his silver Honda Jazz in Peakirk Road, Glinton, near Peterborough, at 9.40pm on 7 September.
He was charged with drink driving after a breath test gave a result of 93 in custody – the legal limit being 35.
Mills, of Eyebury Road, Eye, Peterborough, was disqualified from driving for two years and four months, required to complete a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay a fine of £140 after admitting the offence at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Friday (27 September).
PC Nick Southern, the force’s casualty reduction officer, said: “Mills was aware of the dangers of driving while intoxicated, immediately admitting to officers that he was drunk.
Luke Mills, of Eyebury Road, Eye, Peterborough, was disqualified from driving for two years and four months and fined for drink driving.
“There is no excuse when it comes to driving while under the influence of drink or drugs, and I urge anyone who is intoxicated to arrange an alternative mode of transport.”
