Stagecoach East has appointed a new operations manager for its Cambridge depot. Martin Marsh has now taken on the role at the depot which runs services throughout the city and out to places such as Haverhill, Saffron Walden, Cambourne, Cottenham, Waterbeach and Fulbourn.

Martin said: “Taking on the role of operations manager in a busy and exciting city like Cambridge is wonderful opportunity to serve our local community.

“We are working very hard to provide a local bus network that will meet its needs, through all the challenges of congestion.

“I am very much looking forward to playing a key role in our city’s transport infrastructure.”

Ross Barton, operations director of Stagecoach East, added: “Martin is a capable leader who brings some excellent ideas for development.”

Martin has extensive experience at Stagecoach East, having previously been interim operations manager at both Cambridge and Peterborough, and then operations manager in Bedford.

He was recently shortlisted as a finalist for the national Route One Awards in the category for manager of the year, small/medium Operator for his work at his previous depots.

He said he has always put a priority on establishing performance at the top of the league tables, whilst sponsoring outreach work into the local community and working to improve his colleagues’ health and wellbeing.
