Lack of staff and energy costs forces cafe to close

Griddle & Grind, St Neots, has closed.

Staffing and energy costs has forced the closure of a Cambridgeshire café/restaurant.

Griddle & Grind in High Street, St Neots announced it was closing until further notice.

The artisan grilled cheese restaurant & brew bar said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that we have taken the difficult decision to close our doors until further notice.

“With a cocktail of challenges thrown at us over the past year, not least the staffing challenges and energy costs, we have taken the decision to keep our doors closed for the foreseeable.

“With our resources stretched now more than ever, we will be focusing all of our efforts into our sister venues and hope that we can continue to welcome you in and provide the exceptional hospitality every one of our customers deserve.”

The statement added: “Thank you to every one of you who have made it possible to have brought this concept and venue to where it is now. It has certainly proved to be a learning curve.

“For now, it’s goodbye but do keep your eyes on our social media for further updates.”
