M & Co close Cambridgeshire store
Fashion store M & Co has suddenly closed its store in Market Place, Ely.
“Not a happy Christmas for the staff in our local shop,” said one local customer.

“Zero notice that they were closing the store until the moving lorries turned up this week.”
In 2020 the company announced it was to close 47 stores and axe 380 jobs as part of a restructure.
It blamed the pandemic for a drop in footfall.
Another shopper said: “I saw the sign on the door on Wednesday. Gutted as I loved that store.
“And so awful for staff losing their jobs so close to Christmas.”
